Living deliberately

Deliberate living is deciding how you want to feel first and then getting into action. Whether or not you get what you want is not as important when you have already experienced the feeling you want to feel. And the neat thing is that you attract what you feel, so when you're aligned with your favorite feelings you'll attract more of that which creates those feelings for you.

Default living is actioning yourself through life and hoping for some good feelings along the way, usually only when you get the outcome that you wished for.

You decide what perspective you want.

Deliberate living

This is a recurring theme in my life right now, as so here on the blog. Living deliberately.

When you focus first on how you want to feel and learn how to create those emotions in your life, you can't fail. If you then act and don't reach the outcome you wanted it really doesn't matter as much because you felt the way you wanted to feel to begin with. Default living, as Jess Lively calls it, is when we act and wait for the outcome to decide how we get to feel and that's when we're always depending on outer circumstances of which we have very little control.

The added bonus when you live deliberately is that when you first feel the way you want to feel you automatically attract more of what you want. Congrats!

Awareness is the key

I was exploring this with one of my coaching clients recently and just got it affirmed yet again. Awareness is everything. When we are aware we can choose our response. When we're aware we have the foundation for change. When we are aware we we expand our freedom.

What is hidden from us is difficult to change. What we can't see we cannot remove. When we don't see our patterns we can't draw new ones.

Many people feel that growing awareness is uncomfortable, because what used to be in the shadow is brought to the light. But we need to give credit where credits do. Awareness is the first and very large step in the right direction.

So celebrate your growing awareness. Celebrate your courage to bring the uncomfortable to the light. Because this is where the fun starts - you can make deliberate choices as to where to go from here. Congratulations!
