The importance of acceptance on your path to love

When you feel light, loving, free, aligned, curious or trusting, you know you’re on the right path. When you feel low, drained, fearful, closed in, bored or suspicious you probably are not.

Eckhart Tolle says to go for enthusiasm in whatever we do. Use that as a signpost saying we’re on the right track. If we can’t find enthusiasm, go for enjoyment. Find joy in your circumstance. If neither, at least find acceptance and be still. Accept that you don’t find enthusiasm or enjoyment and be still.

Because the opposite, resistance, will never take you where you wanna go.

I see this everywhere right now, that our suffering lives in our resisting what is. Because what you resist persists and suffering lives in the gap between your reality and your expectations of it. That’s everything.

But acceptance is not giving up. It’s letting go of resistance. I hear so many people resisting letting go of resistance because they believe that if they stop fighting everything will fall apart. What if it’s the other way around. When you stop fighting everything falls into place.

Accept life as it is. Then, when you feel guided to do so, go create the change that you long for.

With all my love,
Helena
