choice

Responsible for all of it

What would happen if you took full responsibility for everything in your life?

Actions, reactions, thoughts and feelings. All of it. This doesn't mean that you take responsibility for anyone else's actions because that's not your responsibility, it means you take responsibility for your reactions to their actions.

If someone did you wrong - how do you respond? It's actually not the other persons responsibility if you choose to carry resentment by not forgiving. Nor is it their responsibility if you choose to react by trying to get even. That's your responsibility and your choice.

If you go through a rough time and get caught in victimhood and can't find your way out. Do you stay there and get bitter or do you get the help you need to get yourself out and back to your empowered self?

I'm not saying any of this is easy, I'm just saying it's possible. And my claim is also that your life will improve when you make the conscious choice to always lean towards empowerment and out of victimhood.

With all my love,

The choice is always yours

You always have a choice to decide how you want to react. You can always choose your perception.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom. Viktor E. Frankl

Do you realize what potential lies in this? You never have to be a victim. I know, as humans, sometimes we do, but we don't need to stay there for long. Choose what you want to do with that space. It's never about the circumstances. There's plenty of people who has it all but still kill themselves because of their misery and more people with nothing who are perfectly happy with their life.

We live in a society and time that tries to convince us that it's about the external stuff. Don't buy it. It's not true.

Trust there's a meaning even if you can't figure it out

I believe there's a meaning to all things that happen. I also believe that believing is a choice that I've made. Our left brain combined with the ego can really run the show if we let them, so I make conscious choices about what I want to believe and when I've made the choice I get to witness my belief grow.

A belief is nothing but a thought we keep thinking and we can decide what thoughts we want to feed. It's pretty amazing when you think about it. It means we really do create our own reality. Two people in identical circumstances can witness the world profoundly different, all because of the beliefs they foster.

This doesn't mean I always easily find the meaning even though I believe it's there. Most of the time I get to connect the dots looking backwards, but sometimes I don't understand. That's okay. That's when I conclude that the simple meaning of what happened could just have been to distract or delay me from something that wasn't meant for me.

I believe there is a meaning to everything. What do you believe?

With all my love,

Helena

Own your choices

The ability to make conscious choices is one of our greatest superpower. We're constantly making them but mostly unconsciously. But remember this, you are the sum of your choices. All the choices that you have made so far in your life has taken you here. It's not only the really big ones that matters, the small ones also shapes your life.

Remember the movie "Sliding doors"? Gwyneth Paltrow plays a character who in one scene misses the metro and in a parallell scene she catches it. We get to follow her life as it unfolds totally different in the two versions where she either caught the metro or missed it. This is all of our lives, there are no coincidences.

Your life unfolds depending on your ability to make choices and follow guidance. Small, daily actions directed in the way you want to go will form your life. Sure, life might interfere and cast you in a totally different direction, but, nonetheless, there's your choice again - what do you do with this unplanned event?

With all my love,

Helena
